  • how do I apply for a bursary?

  • can I get a replacement for my pin?
    Replacement pins cost $30.00. Email the webdiva for the address.

  • how about a ring?
    Replacement rings come from Jostens Canada. Send an email to sean.kelly@jostens.com

  • what about a cap?
    There are no more nursing caps. Your best bet is asking your classmates if anyone has an extra (I still have 2).

  • can I get transcripts?
    Here's the page on the Calgary Health Region website for transcripts. There is a PDF application form to download and an address to send it to.

  • what about replacing my diplomas?
    I went through my old papers when this question came up and I have 3: one from the School of Nursing, one from The U of C and The Foothills Provincial General Hospital, and one from the AARN. For duplicates, you could try CARNA or the CRHA, and let me know what happens.

  • what's the deal with the newsletter?
It costs a lot of money and time to publish a newsletter and mail it out, so the executive decided to move from paper to electronic files.You will still pay dues in order to access the newsletters, as well as be eligible for bursary money.

Here's the latest procedure for the class reps:
  1. September - class reps send email questionnaire to active members, and regular mail to those without email (can be done earlier if you wish, with an email reminder in Sept)
    • include your return mailing address and ask that cheques to FNAA be post-dated to Oct 1
    • to make it easy to cut and paste the information into the newsletter, put the questionnaire in the body of the email and ask them to reply - do not send as an attachment, or they will just print it out
    • ask for:
      • class:
      • name and maiden name:
      • address:
      • email:
      • news, travel, career moves, education, etc:
    • deadline for return of information and cheques is Oct 1
  2. October meeting:
    • submit paid dues to the Treasurer along with class list
      • cheques must have class year written on back
      • mark clearly (asterisk, check mark, highlight...) those members on list who have paid dues
    • submit class update to Membership Coordinator
      • updated class list with members who have paid dues clearly marked, along with address changes
      • OR you can request a spreadsheet version, update it, and return it by email
  3. Newsletter:
    • information formatted as before, with class year and class rep info at top, followed by class information with First Name (Maiden Name) Last Name for each entry
    • submit electronic file to info@albertawebdesigns.ca by Dec 1; put FNAA - Class of 19xx in subject line, and he will convert it to pdf
    • email website password to paid-up members (password changes every Jan)
    • send a print-out of your class newsletter to your paid-up members who don't have email
  4. November/December meeting - late submissions
